Stir Fried Beef and Pepper Noodle Soup

At the very end of the LIC Food Hall, you can find Hunan Noodle. They have a variety of rice noodles, some soup, some mixed. I got the stir fried beef and pepper rice noodle soup. I got it to go, and it came packaged with the rice noodles and topping separate from the broth, a nice touch. The topping is very good: it's the kind of thing I'd be happy to get on its own, and is genuinely a standout. It's spicy (the fresh peppers are delicious and hot, but not too hot), and everything is well seasoned. The rice noodles are very much the same you get at most places, which is to say a little slippery and pretty tender, but they're fine. The broth is nothing to write home about, very average. Inoffensive but it isn't carrying the dish. As a soup noodle fan, this is pretty far from a problem, but I do wish it was more flavorful. I'd probably order the mixed rice noodles next time over the soup, but this is a solid dish.
