Signature Beef Noodle Soup
Master Hong Noodle House
Down in the Food Court at the 99 Ranch in Flushing, you can find Master Hong Noodle House. They sell beef noodle soup, including hand pulled noodles. The soup is quite good, with a solid beefy flavor and a plethora of toppings. Bok choy, a hard boiled egg, cilantro, and peanuts, along with the requisite beef shank. They gave me some chili oil to throw on top, which I dutifully did. Everything here was good, not great. The noodles were chewy, exactly the way I want a hand pulled noodle to be. The peanuts were a nice crunchy touch, and the four pieces of beef shank were very tender. A good noodle, not great, simply because there are much beefier noodle soups around the city. Will be back to try their dumplings, which they seem proud of -- they sell them frozen, as well.
