Wonton Noodle Soup
Noodle Village
Chinatown staple. Noodle Village's wonton soup is a pretty great broth, with some very good wontons and good, very thin, very chewy noodles. Great for slurping up big bites of noodles. The wontons are not the best wontons I've had in noodle soup, but everything else is top notch. I'd prefer a bit more texture to my wontons, but they are pretty good and full of meat. The wrappers are very nice and thin, and very much a nice complement to the noodles. The soup is pretty light and flavorful, but the star of the show is the noodles. They are some of the best noodles I've had, just a perfect combination of chew and thinness for wonton soup. The menu here is pretty big, and we got some har gow with the soup. The price is right. Right next door is Maxi's Noodle 3, which offers up a different (but still very good!) wonton experience. The definition of comfort soup. The youtiao and congee looked to be a popular pick. The har gow were nothing to write home about, but were pretty acceptable.
